Cooking Lab


In the two well-equipped Food Preparation Labs students can improve food and meal preparation skills. Specific skills and values related to food and family mealtime are outlined in several courses:
  • Prepare all types of food items so they have confidence in selecting and following recipes
  • Handle food safely to avoid food-borne illness
  • Use equipment appropriately for baking and cooking
  • Apply knowledge of nutrition to cooking
  • Create family meals
  • Evaluate consumer issues related to family mealtime
  • Enjoy cooking!
