Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE)
National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) sponsors the only international program to certify family life educators. Students may earn a “provisional” Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) certificate as they complete undergraduate coursework, and gain work experience before and after graduation to move from provisional to full status.

Depending on the program emphasis, students desiring to complete CFLE certification requirements take from 3 to 5 additional courses, while at the same time carefully selecting elective courses to match CFLE requirements. See the Map Sheet for your area of emphasis and carefully compare it to the BYU CFLE coursework requirements.
